From humble beginnings
to state-of-the-art facilities
We come from humble beginnings - a single butcher's shop opened in Lingfield High Street, Surrey in 1982. Over the years as our excellence and high level of customer service became recognised, we outgrew the shop so that today, we operate on a mass-production scale, from our new state-of-the-art premises in East Grinstead, West Sussex.
We haven’t forgotten our roots though and our values of being a friendly and professional family-run business, with quality service at the heart of everything we do still remain.

We are very proud of our extensive product list. We source all of our British products as locally to us as possible, through our tried and tested suppliers, to support local farmers and minimise food miles as much as we can. We stock Free-range, RSPCA (Freedom Foods), Red Tractor approved and farm assured meat, along with organic products approved by the Soil Association for the Food for Life Awards.

‘Our famous multi-award-winning Lingfield pork sausages’
The recipe of our ‘Famous Lingfield Sausage’ was first designed by our company founder and Chairman, Chris Major, back in 1982 when CMB Foods began.
If you asked Chris, he would tell you that his recipe is top secret, but we can confirm that it is a special blend of herbs and the best quality meat. He always used the best quality local pork, and we are proud to say that the pork used in the recipe today is Red Tractor and RSPCA Assured certified. The sausage is now used by many of our schools as it is compliant with the Soil Association’s Food for Life awards scheme.
The pork is very lean, taken from the leg and loin of the pig and the meat content of the sausage is very high at around 80%.
Did you Know?
- Our Famous Lingfield Sausage has won many awards over the years. The most recent is the 2019 UK Sausage Week for Best Foodservice in the traditional category.
- We make in excess of 3 tonnes of sausage per week, distributing it far and wide to customers all over the UK.
- The salt content is only 1.0g/100g which is well within the low target content of the PHE (Public Health England) which makes the Lingfield sausage a healthier option.
- The Lingfield sausage is totally monosodium glutamate (MSG) free.
